At Bur Oak Acres, our mission is to cultivate a meaningful farm life built on hard work, continuous learning, and a deep love for animals. We are dedicated to raising healthy, well-cared-for livestock while embracing self-sufficiency and responsible stewardship of our land. Our Goats

There are many benefits of owning goats, such as brush and weed control, educational opportunities for kids, easy-to-handle and hardy animals, and you can use their manure for fertilizer!

All of our goats are registered Myotonic (fainting) goats. This breed of goat is famous for their unique genetic condition called myotonia congenita which causes them to collapse or ‘faint’ when startled or excited.  They have a calm demeanor, are easy to handle, and cannot jump like other goat breeds.

All of our goats (1 year or older) tested NEGATIVE for CL, Johne’s, CAE, and Q Fever on 12/18/2024 by Sage Laboratories, LLC.
